What the Pho ?
Pho is a Vietnamese dish consisting of broth, noodles made from rice, a few herbs, and meat. It is a popular street dish, and the specialty of several restaurant chains. The two main varieties are chicken pho and beef pho.
Is Pho soup good for you ?
Pho contains sodium, potassium and chloride. All of these minerals are electrolytes, substances that conduct electricity in the body and help maintain its fluid balance.
The pho served in restaurants may contain far higher amounts of salt. If you’re enjoying a bowl of pho, watch your salt intake for the rest of the day.
Pho traditionally contains beef, a food associated with both health benefits and health concerns. Beef is an excellent protein source. It is rich in iron, which the body uses to manufacture red blood cells, and in zinc, a mineral essential to the functioning of the immune system.
Pho soup recipe
- 1 tablespoon of green onions
- Sliced chicken or beef it depends on what is your favorite type of meat
- 1 ladle of broth
- Some Jalapeno slices
- Some sliced carrots (1 tablespoon)
- 1 table spoon of basil leaves
- A handful of mung bean sprouts
- Some cut onions (1 tablespoon)
- 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon of garlic chili sauce
Take a bowl of rice noodles and put some Pho in it. Add the green onions and water it with the ladle of broth.
To garnish your Pho add the jalapeno slices, the carrots, the basil leaves, the mung bean sprouts, onions and some of your favorite meat in slices.
At the end add some hoisin sauce and garlic chili sauce as an additional garnish.
